Financial  FAQ

Do you take insurance?

No. Currently their are no "sober livings" in the United State that take insurance.

Wait but i've heard of sober living homes taking insurance?

Some organizations may offer an IOP (Intensive out patient) program that they will bill insurance for. Plus a "sober living home" where you stay while not at their IOP which you pay for out of pocket.

I've heard of a place that gives you free sober living if you sign up for their IOP with insurance?

If an organization offers you free "sober living" with their IOP WATCH OUT!!! They may intend to bill your insurance exorbitant fees that will come back to haunt you. Places like these have been know to charge $2500 for a single drug test! This is unlawful & a serious problem in our industry. Be very careful. This can really mess up your insurance.

Why don't sober living homes take insurance?

A "sober living home" is a single family residence. The people living in a "sober living home" are technically a "family" as designated by the federal government and thusly protected by the Federal Fair Housing Act. This is why sober homes cannot supply medical services or bill insurance companies for their services.
